According to a video from 27:54 posted on the official YouTube channel of on Saturday, May 9, 2026, public policy analyst and development expert, Abba Kakah, spoke on the growing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general election and the possible impact of opposition coalitions on the ruling party.
Kakah made the remarks during a discussion on the current state of Nigeria’s opposition politics, especially following recent movements involving key political figures. He argued that the emerging alliances could significantly reshape the electoral map if opposition leaders manage to work together and avoid internal divisions.
Speaking on voting strength across regions, Kakah said, “The numbers in the South will be eaten up by Peter Obi, while in the North, Kwankwaso can bring Kano.”
