During an interview from 8:56 on Channels Television, Dele Momodu, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), spoke on the political decisions of Peter Obi.

Momodu argued that Obi’s actions may be influenced by pressure from his support base, suggesting that some of his followers had already set conditions regarding potential political alliances.

He referenced comments by notable figures such as Aisha Yesufu and Pat Utomi, who he said publicly expressed opposition to Obi accepting a vice-presidential role.

He added that internal dynamics and perceptions of political strength often shape decisions within party structures, especially ahead of major electoral contests.

According to him, “Obi is afraid of his supporters. They already told him in advance that if he agreed to be vice president to anyone, they were going to disown him. They said it. Aisha Yesufu said it. Pat Utomi said it. They all said it publicly. So let’s stop hiding behind one finger. Obi did not leave because of Atiku Abubakar.
