Former Rivers State Governor and ADC vice-presidential candidate Rotimi Amaechi has challenged former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole to present his academic credentials, following remarks Amaechi described as dismissive of his achievements.

Speaking during an interview From 24:42 on Rapid TV, Amaechi said the two politicians held the same position as governors at the same time and neither was subordinate to the other. He also urged Oshiomhole to compare their records in office rather than make personal assessments.

Amaechi said he was prepared to outline his achievements in Rivers State and called on Oshiomhole to do the same regarding his tenure in Edo State. The former governor was responding to Oshiomhole’s description of him as shallow.

He also defended his academic background, stating that he holds degrees in Law and Literature, as well as master’s degrees in both disciplines. Amaechi added that he is currently pursuing another master’s degree in Global Political Economy at King’s College London.

Amaechi said, “I listened to Governor Oshiomhole, and I’m disappointed in him. He’s not my subordinate. He was a governor while I was a governor. But he should show what he did in Edo State, and I will show him what I did in Rivers State. He said I’m shallow. I have a degree in Law and Literature. I have master’s degrees in Literature and Law. I’m pursuing another master’s degree in Global Political Economy at King’s College London. Let him show me his certificate.”
