Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain Segun Showunmi has urged former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to stand firm and resist any pressure to step aside for other candidates in the ADC’s emerging presidential race ahead of 2027.
Speaking in an interview from 24:04 with Channels TV, Showunmi said, “If anybody is telling Waziri Atiku Abubakar to step down, sir, don’t you dare step down. I can tell you for free that the ideas in his head about how to run this country in terms of security are far better than any of theirs. So why would he be stepping down for them? For what? He has told them this is his last time, and we can accept that even if it ends in defeat, you have to go to the primaries.”
