Billy Oyiza, a Lagos State University undergraduate, Billy Oyiza, has stated that he was locked up in Kirikiri Correctional Centre after being convicted for murder linked to a cult clash between rival groups
According to a report by Punch On Saturday, October 25, 2025 Oyiza explained that the incident happened in 2018 during a violent fight between his cult group, Aro (Vikings), and Aiye at Yabatech
Oyiza said that during that time, he discovered that his neighbour in LASU was a member of the Aiye cult. He said, “During that period, I discovered that my neighbour in LASU was a member of Aiye”
Oyiza said out of fear and ambition to rise to the top position called “XY” in his cult group, he decided to kill his neighbor. He said he confronted and shot his neighbour in the chest, however, the gunshot attracted immediate attention. He said, “Driven by hunger for power and fear, I created a confrontation and killed him. He didn’t see it coming because he didn’t know I was one of them”
Oyiza said security officers and police quickly arrived, and he was arrested on the spot. He said he spent seven years at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre before his eventual release. View, More,
