African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate, Hon. Gabriel Pidomson, has claimed that he founded the Wike Solidarity Movement and coined political expressions including “Wikematic” and “Wiketeacher.”
Pidomson made the claim during an interview from 5:50 on Arise TV while responding to allegations against him.
He denied being a member of any gang, arguing that the allegations were intended to distract attention from his political influence and ability to mobilise supporters.
According to him, he established the Wike Solidarity Movement (WSM), which he said expanded to various polling units within three months.
Pidomson said his current political focus was on mobilising support ahead of the forthcoming election and opposing political violence.
He also addressed comments by Rivers State APC spokesperson, Ikenga, who said the party was preparing to defeat the ADC in the election.
Pidomson said he welcomed the declaration, noting that it differed from earlier claims that the outcome of the election had already been decided.
He argued that his emergence as the ADC governorship candidate had altered the political landscape and maintained that the election was still open.
Speaking about his role in the Wike Solidarity Movement and the political expressions associated with the group, Pidomson said, “I was the progenitor of the Wike Solidarity movement, when people say Wike can Mobilize, when you hear Wikematic, Wiketeacher, all those are my coinage.”
