Datti Baba Ahmed, a former vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has stated that his late father settled in Nigeria in 1925.
In an interview from 1:20:05 with Seun Okinbaloye on Mic On Podcast, Ahmed said his father’s clan descended from jihadists who were “Quran memorizers” and established schools across different areas.
Baba Ahmed also stated that his father was originally from the French territories in North Africa, which are now Mauritania, Algeria and Morocco. He said his father chose to settle close to a publishing press owned by the British in Nigeria because he was involved in writing and publishing.
