According to a report by PUNCH on Thursday August 27 2026, the wife of Delta State content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu of Asaba, has defended her husband against allegations that he raped 20-year-old Favour Agbro.

This followed Ogbonna’s arrest by the police over allegations that he took Favour to a hotel and assaulted her after inviting her to Asaba to learn content creation. Favour later died after ingesting a toxic substance.

In a video shared on her husband’s page on Wednesday, Ogbonna’s wife denied the rape allegation, insisting that her husband did not rape or kill Favour but only had an affair with her.

She said she had been following the case and had taken time to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident before speaking publicly. The wife said she would continue to support her husband, stressing that allegations made on social media should not be treated as a substitute for due process.

She also maintained that Ogbonna had never raped anyone and questioned why he would engage in such an act now that he is a public figure. She acknowledged Favour’s death as a serious matter but insisted that her husband should not be held responsible for the death without evidence.

His wife said, “Odogwu Asaba did not kill anybody. I know my husband…. Odogwu Asaba did not rape Favour. Odogwu Asaba only had an affair with the girl.”
