Omoyele Sowore, former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has stated that in 1985 Nigeria Airways operated more than 30 aircraft and flew international routes to places such as London, Dubai, and South Africa

In a video from 4:34 Omoyele Sowore shared, he said in 1985 Emirates had 2 planes while Qatar Airways did not exist then. He said now Emirates and Qatar Airways have expanded into major global airlines with hundreds of aircraft while Nigeria Airways has no aircraft.

In Sowore’s words: “In 1985 Nigeria Airways had over 37 aircraft, Qatar Airways had zero aircraft, Emirates actually had 2 aircraft on lease. Nigeria was flying to London, Dubai, South Africa, everywhere. Today Nigeria Airways has zero aircraft, Qatar has uncountable, Emirates has over 200 aircraft. So have you made progress? But you want me to stand here and recommend the same people who destroyed Nigeria Airways to come and take over power” Read_More…
