Femi Falana, a senior advocate of Nigeria has asked why the Dangote refinery is importing crude oil from America instead of using Nigeria’s own crude oil.

In an interview shared by Sahara TV from 14:57, Falana said that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) is supposed to allocate 445,000 barrels of crude oil to Dangote refinery to refine for domestic use. He said the NNPCL has not publicly confirmed if these barrels are being provided to Dangote for refining. He said that Nigerians need to start asking the government tough questions about how the country’s resources and economy are being managed.

Falana emphasized that by holding the government accountable, Nigerians can help improve the economy and reduce poverty. He stressed that Nigeria should not be struggling with poverty given its resources, and better management could help the country thrive.

In Falana’s words: “Why is Dangote company importing crude oil from America, what has happened to our own? 445,000 barrels of crude oil are dedicated for domestic consumption, what happened to that policy? At the very least, 445,000 must be given to Dangote to refine for the country but NNPC cannot say publicly that we have given out those barrels”….Sée Móre
