Osa Director, the National Publicity Secretary of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, alleged that Senator Adams Oshiomhole ignored his public challenge to file a defamation lawsuit after he accused him of criminal conduct during a newspaper interview published while Oshiomhole served as Edo State governor.

According to a video from 26:48 posted on the official YouTube channel of SYMFONI on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, while discussing his past relationship with Oshiomhole, Osa Director recalled issuing a public challenge and claimed the former Edo governor never responded through legal action.

He said the interview appeared on the front page of a newspaper in 2012 when Oshiomhole was still governor, maintaining that he deliberately invited legal proceedings because he believed they would provide an opportunity to present documentary evidence supporting his allegations publicly.

During the interview, he stated, “I have granted an interview before, which was published on the front page. He was a sitting governor then, in 2012. If you permit me, because I’m quoting that interview, I challenged him to take me to court for calling him a criminal so that I would have the opportunity to use documentary evidence at my disposal to disgrace and expose him. He never went to court.”

He explained that he made the challenge while Oshiomhole was serving as governor, saying he wanted the matter tested in court because he believed it would give him the opportunity to present documentary evidence in support of his claims.

In his concluding remarks, Osa Director maintained that his challenge remained unanswered, insisting Oshiomhole never pursued legal action despite the public accusations, which he argued could have allowed both parties to present their evidence before a competent court.
