In a recent video from 57:04 on YouTube, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, has recounted a testimony involving a woman seeking a visa, using the story to underscore the role of faith and positive declaration in achieving desired outcomes.

Speaking during a sermon, Adeboye narrated how the woman approached him for prayers before attending an interview at the American embassy. According to him, the request appeared straightforward at the time.

“She came to me and said, ‘Daddy, I’m going to the American embassy for a visa. Please pray for me,’” he said.

Adeboye explained that he prayed for her and sent her on her way, expecting a favorable outcome. However, the woman later returned with disappointing news.

“She went for the interview and came back very sad,” he recounted. “She said they didn’t give me the visa.”

When asked what went wrong, Adeboye said the woman gave an unexpected response that shifted the focus from the interview process to the nature of the prayer itself.

“She said, ‘I know they won’t give me… you didn’t say it is done,’” he told the congregation, highlighting her belief that the absence of a firm declaration affected the result.

“I told her, ‘You reapply. And this time, it is done,’” he said.

According to him, the woman followed the directive, returning to the embassy with renewed confidence. While he did not elaborate extensively on the final outcome, the account was presented as a lesson in persistence and belief.

Adeboye used the story to encourage worshippers to combine prayer with conviction, suggesting that how requests are framed can influence both mindset and results.
