US-based Nigerian lawyer, Emmanuel Ogebe, has raised fresh concerns over the escalating security challenges in Nigeria, particularly the activities of insurgent groups such as Boko Haram. He warned that recent attacks on military formations highlight a troubling trend that demands urgent attention from authorities.

Ogebe made the remarks during an interview from 3:54 on Channels Television, where he reacted to the persistent insurgency and its impact on Nigeria’s security architecture. Providing a striking example, Ogebe said, “A couple of weeks ago, they attacked four military bases in one week, killing the commanding officers of those three or four military bases.” The statement underscores the severity of the attacks and the apparent boldness of insurgents in targeting high-ranking officers and strategic installations.

Ogebe further called for a comprehensive review of Nigeria’s security framework, urging the government to adopt more proactive measures to protect both military personnel and civilians. He stressed the importance of equipping security forces with adequate resources and improving coordination among agencies to counter the evolving threats. Read_More…
