According to Al Jazeera English, Iran has claimed responsibility for a new wave of attacks targeting a United States military installation in Bahrain, saying the operation caused significant damage to key military infrastructure amid the rapidly escalating confrontation between Tehran and Washington.

According to statements released by Iran’s military and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), drone strikes were carried out against Bahrain’s Sheikh Isa Air Base. The IRGC said the latest attacks were carried out in retaliation for recent US military strikes, which it alleged forced the evacuation of a children’s cancer hospital in Ahvaz and disrupted operations at a water production facility serving pilgrims travelling to the Iraqi city of Karbala near Iran’s Ilam province.
