During an interview from 35:17 on News Central TV on Saturday, July 11, 2026, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, recalled a humorous incident from his youth when his father confronted him over a pregnancy involving a young woman he knew.
Charly Boy said the incident happened during his younger years, when he and his friends spent much of their time playing football. He recounted being summoned by his father into the sitting room, where he found the girl’s parents, the young woman, and his own parents waiting for him.
According to him, “One day, my father called me, ‘Charles.’ And when he calls me in a certain way, I know there’s trouble. So I came into the sitting room. I saw the parents and the girl, and there were my parents, and then my father goes, ‘Do you know this girl?’ I said, ‘Yes, I know her, but it’s not only me that knows her; all of us that play football know the girl.’
“My father said, ‘You know she’s pregnant,’ and I looked at my father and I said, ‘Ah! Like how?’ I said, ‘You guys should stop looking at me; I’m a small boy. How can I do this?’”
