Senator Orji Uzor Kalu recently spoke passionately during an interview, sharing both his plans for Abia North in 2027 and his strong support for President Bola Tinubu. He addressed reporters who questioned him about the traditional attire he wore that seemed to endorse President Tinubu’s 2027 ambition.
In a video that was shared by TV Platinum, Speaking on his plans, Orji Kalu said that by 2027, he plans to shift focus from road and school projects to agriculture. He explained that when he was governor, everyone in Abia — even civil servants — worked on farms, and he wanted to bring that spirit back. He believes farming will help the economy and improve lives in his senatorial district.
While talking about receiving an award for Best Senator, he criticized Nigerians for being dishonest. He said, “Nigerians are hypocrites, they don’t tell the truth. If you’re in the opposition or the ruling party, tell the truth. I am not afraid of truth.”
When asked about his outfit, which seemed to endorse Tinubu for 2027, Kalu jokingly responded, “This attire, already people are wearing it; I’m not the first person; it’s because you people have eagle eyes, and you can see what I’m wearing. You send Umaru to come and Abuse me, because I’m wearing it, any day I’m wearing white will you stop me like this, it’s because I’m wearing something for the president.”
He added that many Nigerians already wear the same attire and there’s no reason for the criticism. “I’m very proud of my dress; it fits Nigerian people,” he said.
Senator Kalu reminded everyone that his work is driven by passion and love for the people, not just politics. He called on other leaders to do the same.
