Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has launched a scathing attack on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing him of hypocrisy for promoting the virtues of Israeli democracy while expressing plans to annex Gaza.
In a recent Facebook post, Fani-Kayode wrote, “Yesterday I watched Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pontificating to the world about the so-called virtues of Israeli democracy whilst at the same time stating his intention to annex Gaza.”
The former minister questioned why the world should accept moral or political lessons from Israel in light of its actions in Gaza.
“This begs the following questions. Why should we take lessons on democracy from those who kill babies, children, women and unarmed and defenceless civilians? Why should we be subjected to unsolicited lectures from those that subject their fellow human beings to mass murder, ethnic cleansing, genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and starvation? Why should we listen to those that seek to eliminate and exterminate an entire race of people?” he stated.
Fani-Kayode’s remarks come as the conflict in Gaza intensifies, with Israeli military operations drawing widespread condemnation over civilian casualties and large-scale destruction.
