Senator Ireti Kingibe, who represents the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has questioned the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, over allegations that he allocated plots of land in Abuja to his children.

During a recent Senate session, Kingibe asked directly:

“Wike, did you give any of your children a plot of land in Abuja?”

The question comes amid reports claiming Wike allocated over 2,000 hectares of prime land in Maitama and Asokoro to his son through companies allegedly linked to his family.

Wike’s spokesperson, Lere Olayinka, denied the claims, describing them as false and politically motivated. He said no land has been allocated to any of Wike’s children and insisted that companies mentioned in the allegations have no link to the minister’s family.

He also challenged critics to provide evidence from the land registry or Corporate Affairs Commission proving any connection between Wike’s children and the companies involved.

This clash highlights ongoing tensions over land allocations and revocations in the FCT, an issue that has frequently brought Wike and Senator Kingibe into conflict.
