In a recent video on Facebook, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church Primate Elijah Ayodele, revealed his reasons for not joining the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). Ayodele expressed deep concerns about the politicization of the Christian body, which he believes has compromised its integrity and mission.
He emphasized that the primary role of religious leaders should be spiritual guidance and moral direction, rather than political maneuvering and influence.
Ayodele’s remarks come at a time when many Nigerians are questioning the role of religious organizations in the political state. According to Ayodele, the growing involvement of Christian leaders in politics has led to a deviation from the core values of Christianity.
He called for a return to the fundamental principles of Christianity, urging leaders to prioritize the spiritual well-being of their congregations over political ambitions. He also argued that the church should serve as a beacon of hope and morality, rather than getting entangled in the often murky waters of politics.
According to him, “I didn’t join Christian Association Of Nigeria (CAN), because Christian leaders have politicize the christian body.”….Seë_Morë
