Former Senator representing Kaduna Central and well-known human rights activist, Shehu Sani, has stirred a wave of mixed reactions online following a recent post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.
Sani shared a peculiar photo showing a man bending over with his upper body twisted in such a way that, instead of his face pointing downward as expected, it turns upward. The image quickly caught users’ attention due to its unusual and humorous nature.
Alongside the image, Shehu Sani added a cryptic caption: “When a person belongs to two parties.” This brief statement set social media ablaze with speculation, as many interpreted the post as a satirical jab at certain Nigerian politicians who appear to support multiple political parties for personal or strategic gain.
Online users were quick to analyze the meaning behind the image and caption. Some suggested that Sani was indirectly referring to Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, who has recently been seen expressing support for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) without officially leaving the LP. They argue that this dual alignment creates confusion about his true political loyalty.
Others, however, believe the post was aimed at Nyesom Wike, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who has openly shown support for President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC)—an act viewed by critics as betrayal for personal political leverage.
As reactions continue to pour in, many commend Sani’s clever and humorous approach to political commentary, while others see it as an indirect way of calling out hypocrisy within the Nigerian political space.
This isn’t the first time Shehu Sani has used satire and visual metaphors to criticize or highlight contradictions in Nigerian politics. His unique style of political commentary continues to generate buzz and provoke thought among his followers online.
