‎‎Dr. Garus Gololo, a former member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of using religion for political purposes, during an interview with The Sun on Sunday 13 July, 2025.

‎He said many Nigerians were misled by the Muslim-Muslim ticket during the 2023 elections.

‎Gololo is now a supporter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a rising opposition platform.

‎He believes the current government has failed to deliver good leadership and has instead brought more pain to the people.

‎Gololo said that religious places might soon be filled with political messages supporting Tinubu.

‎According to him, this would be unfortunate because faith should not be mixed with politics.

‎He warned that mosques and churches might be used to push a hopeless agenda as the 2027 elections approach.

‎He also claimed that after using religion to win the last election, Tinubu has not been seen in mosques as he used to be.

‎Gololo said this is proof that some politicians only use religion to win votes and later abandon the people.

‎He added that he and many others believed in the Muslim-Muslim ticket at the time, but now feel betrayed.

‎He said the trust of many Nigerians was misused, and now the government is no longer focused on solving real problems.

‎Gololo stressed that mixing religion with politics is dangerous and could divide the country further.

‎He said leaders should be judged by their actions and policies, not by religious appearances or slogans.

‎He urged Nigerians to be more careful in choosing their leaders in 2027.

‎He said the ADC coalition will offer a true alternative that focuses on the people and not on political tricks.

‎”Furthermore, it will not be long and we will see every mosque and church filled with Tinubu’s message of hopeless agenda. And I think that would be unfortunate because many of us were deceived with Muslim-Muslim ticket. After the elections, he is not seen any more in the mosques during prayers,” he said.
