The new rebel leader of Syria, Abu Mohammad al-Julani, has allegedly made it known that his regime only want peace with Israel, rather than to be its opponent.

According to one of the fresh reports that were made available by Jerusalem Post, the above declaration was made by al-Julani through the new Governor of Damascus, Maher Marwan, who spoke on his behalf.

In his words, he said in part that “We want peace, and we do not want to be an opponent to Israel or an opponent to anyone”.

The report also alleged Marwan of saying, “Our problem is not with Israel” and that Syria is looking for relationship with the Zionist State.

It was further made known by the new Syrian authority that, after the accelerated takeover of the government of the embattled country within eleven days, the leader of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham rebel group that allegedly has affiliation with Al Qaeda network is said to be attempting to consolidate its international legitimacy.

Marwan reportedly noted during a recent meeting that it was natural for the State of Israel to have concerns about the new government of his country; hence, as a result, Israel “advanced a little, bòmbed a little”.

He went further to also say that the new administration of Syria is not desirous of meddling “in anything that will threaten Israel’s security or any other country’s security”.

The leader of Damascus allegedly proceeded to also implore the United States of America to foster a more intimate relationship with Israel.
