The Kogi State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kingsley Ogga, has spoken strongly against Honorable Leke Abejide’s claim of being the national leader of the party. He made these remarks during an interview on Arise News.

Ogga rejected the idea that Abejide is the only elected member of the ADC. According to him, “I don’t want you people to be saying that he’s the only elected member of ADC. He has never been the only one. In 2019, we had three members in the House of Representatives. They defected to other parties.”

The chairman explained that in the ADC, every member enjoys the same rights regardless of how long they have been in the party. “If you join ADC today you have equal right with somebody that has been there for 10 years,” he stated.

Ogga further claimed that the ADC is bigger than Abejide’s personal influence. “We have about 87 senators in ADC right now as I’m telling you. We have former governors. We have deputy governors. He can’t come and say that he is the national leader,” he said.

He insisted that Abejide only finances the party in Kogi because of his political ambition, but has no wider influence. Ogga added, “He is not a grassroot man as myself. The last election in 2023, I won my own local government. Did he win his own local government?
