In a candid interview on Arise TV from 12:57, the pro-chancellor and chairman, governing council of the American University of Nigeria, Senator Ben Obi acknowledged that aging has inevitably affected the president’s vitality, drawing a comparison to his own experiences.
He reflected on their political beginnings in 1978 as young revolutionaries and admitted that, with the wisdom of age, he would not express certain views held in his youth.
While recognizing the effects of age on President Tinubu, Obi emphasized that the president remains mentally sharp, as evidenced by his astute response to their presentation.
Obi suggested that the key to addressing the president’s reduced physical capacity is for him to surround himself with capable and dedicated individuals who can support and assist him in his duties.
According to Ben Obi, “We all age by the day, Now the president (Tinubu) that I saw is not as active as the president I used to know when he was governor, ditto for my own good self, I’m not as active as I used to be. When we started politics in 1978, we started as revolutionaries. Looking back, I don’t think some of the things I said in 1978, I would say them now. So, age has caught up with the president, but he still understands, because he reacted sharply to our presentation. I think all he have to do is to have the right people around him.”….Sêe __ Morê
