Public Affairs Analyst Chris Maduka has criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the timing of his recent trip to the United Kingdom, linking it to ongoing security challenges in the country.

Maduka made the remarks during an interview from 16:06 on Signature TV, where he expressed concern about what he described as a disconnect between the presidency and the realities on the ground, particularly in Nigeria’s troubled northeastern region.

Citing a specific incident, Maduka said, “On the day there were three bomb explosions in Borno State, it was the day he took off on a red carpet to the UK.” The analyst used the comment to show what he described as poor prioritization by the administration at a time when parts of the country continue to grapple with insecurity.

The statement comes amid renewed concerns over insurgent activities in Borno, a state that has long been at the center of Nigeria’s fight against terrorism. Multiple attacks in recent times have raised questions about the effectiveness of ongoing security strategies and the federal government’s response.
