Renowned Arewa leader Alhaji Musa Saidu has called on the north to return the assistance President Bola Tinubu gave to Muhammadu Buhari while he was the president.
Vanguard reported that Saidu emphasized how Tinubu’s work was essential to Buhari’s victory in the South West and subsequent ascent to the presidency.
As a steadfast supporter of Tinubu in the north, Saidu stressed the significance of appreciating and reciprocating Tinubu’s friendship and solidarity. He emphasized that Tinubu’s steadfast endorsement of Buhari over the course of his eight-year presidency was proof of his dedication to the North.
He emphasized that Tinubu’s leadership should be supported because the North is recognized for its values of consistency and truthfulness.
He understood the great personal cost of Tinubu’s allegiance to Buhari, which resulted in hostility in the South because of his unwavering commitment to the North.
Saidu added that although some members of Buhari’s inner circle made an effort to discredit Tinubu’s presidential aspirations, these efforts were fruitless because Tinubu’s eventual victory was perceived as being guided by divine forces.
He restated that a few leaders from the north had also stressed how important it is to keep in mind and be grateful for Tinubu’s endorsement of Buhari.
As a northern leader with Southern roots, Saidu reflected on his own experiences and reaffirmed his commitment to fighting for the North to support Tinubu.
He emphasized the need to remember Tinubu’s devotion and sacrifices and urged the area to return the favor by supporting Buhari’s election.
Quoting him, “I speak as a northern leader. Tinubu made enemies in the South because he was supporting the North to be president. The North is known for truth. Our character is consistent with truth, so let us reciprocate the support.”
