Thonia Okoye’s birthday celebration turned into a nightmare after a brutal assault at Blacbox nightclub in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
What was meant to be a joyous evening with friends became a scene of violence, humiliation, and trauma allegedly orchestrated by popular realtor Maduba Okechi Christian, also known as Ceemore, and his security detail.
According to a report published by PUNCH, Okoye had reserved a VIP table at the club for her celebration, spending N200,000 to ensure a smooth and private experience.
However, events quickly escalated when the suspect approached her group and was denied a seat. Tensions heightened when one of the women began recording a video of herself dancing, which reportedly infuriated Maduba.
The situation spiraled into violence as Okoye was allegedly dragged down a flight of stairs by the suspect and his aides.
She was stripped naked and subjected to a merciless beating in front of stunned patrons. Witnesses say she sustained multiple injuries and was left traumatized by the public assault.
The attack did not end with her. Another guest, Juliet Obasi, who had traveled from Owerri to join the celebration, suffered a head injury after being struck with a bottle. She required emergency medical care due to profuse bleeding. A third woman in the group reportedly lost a tooth during the chaos.
She said: “They broke the teeth of my other friend. They pushed me downstairs, stripped me naked, and beat me mercilessly as if I had stolen something, all because this man came with a Mopol and bodyguards. This is not the first time he would be doing this.”
