During a recent debate in the Senate on rising insecurity across the country, Senator Abdul Ningi raised serious concerns about how security matters are being handled. He explained that the situation has become so dangerous that leaders must rethink the way security agencies operate and how they respond to tragedies.

In a video shared by Viable TV from 4.21, he told his colleagues about a troubling report involving the family of the late Brigadier General Musa Uba, a senior military officer who was killed in the line of duty. According to the Senator, the officer’s widow said no official reached out to her after her husband’s death. She received no explanation, no support, and no communication.

Senator Ningi questioned how such a situation could happen in a country that has committees responsible for oversight of the military and national security. He wondered who the grieving family was expected to turn to if those responsible for providing answers failed to act.

The Senator also mentioned new information from the governor of Kebbi State, who revealed that security officers were withdrawn shortly before schoolgirls were kidnapped in the state. Senator Ningi expressed frustration that incidents like this keep happening without proper investigation or accountability. He argued that committees responsible for monitoring security agencies should be asking tough questions and ensuring the right actions are taken.
