Barrister Jide Ologun, a lawyer and public affairs analyst, has pointed out similarities between the political strategies of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara. Ologun highlighted how Wike managed to simultaneously align with both the PDP and APC, a strategy that Fubara appears to be replicating. According to Ologun, Fubara has now raised a proxy party, the APP, with the aim of winning all but one election.
He stated that while such political maneuvers may benefit the individuals involved, he is hopeful for a future where the nation’s wealth is more equitably distributed among the majority of its citizens.
He said in an interview with TVC from 6:26, “The ticket that Wike played is what Fubara played. He was also in PDP and APC at the same time, holding the two parties. Now Fubara also has raised a proxy party, APP, to win all except for one. You see, for them, it’s gain. I’m looking forward to a moment when the wealth of the nation will reflect on the majority of the citizens.”
