Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett took to his verified Twitter account, commending the bravery of Israeli soldiers and the resilience of the Israeli people in their ongoing battle against Hezbollah terrorists.

Bennett’s message came amidst escalating tensions in the region, as Hezbollah has launched multiple attacks on northern Israel over the past year, leading to significant casualties and widespread destruction.

In his tweet, Bennett described the Israeli people as a “nation of lions,” rising from their ambush to strike back against their enemies. He highlighted the devastating toll Hezbollah’s actions have taken, stating that the militant group has killed dozens of Israelis, fired thousands of rockets into the country, and effectively dismantled towns like Metula and Shlomi, as well as several kibbutzim in the north. These actions have led to the depopulation of northern Israel as civilians flee the relentless rocket fire.

Despite these challenges, Bennett emphasized the dedication of Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers, particularly those who have crossed into Lebanese territory to carry out what he called a “sacred mission” to protect Israel’s citizens. “Every IDF soldier who has ever crossed the border fence into Lebanese soil knows that he is doing so for the sacred mission: to protect the citizens of Israel,” Bennett wrote.

The former prime minister ended his message with a prayer for the safety of Israeli soldiers, wishing them success in their operations. His statement reflects ongoing concerns over Hezbollah’s presence in Lebanon and the ongoing conflict along Israel’s northern border.
