Evans Bipi, a former Chief Whip of the Rivers State House of Assembly and a loyalist of Governor Sim Fubara has reacted to the event held in honour of former Governor Nyesom Wike by some Ijaw people in Rivers State.

In a live coverage by Symfoni TV from 6:39, Bipi said those who attended the event “are not more Ijaw than him or Egberipapa”. He made this statement at a rally organized by Simplicity Movement, a group supporting Governor Sim Fubara. He said he and Egberipapa remain firmly loyal to Governor Fubara. He also said when influential Ijaw groups like the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) and the Ijaw National Congress (INC) speak, their voices will be heard.

In Bipi’s words: “Who is a better Ijaw man there than me or who is a better Ijaw man than Egberipapa? When IYC will speak you will hear, when INC will speak they will hear”.
