Honorable Uzokwe Ifeanyi, representing Nnewi North/South/Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, Anambra State, has defended President’s silence on the ongoing nationwide protest, saying Nigerians voted for him knowing his nature.
In an interview with Channels Television From 1:57, Ifeanyi argued that the President’s reluctance to engage with Nigerians during the campaign period should not have come as a surprise. “How many times did the President talk to the people during the campaign? Did he appear on any debate?” he asked rhetorically.
Ifeanyi insisted that Nigerians voted for the President with full knowledge of his limitations. “You saw all these things, yet you voted him in, and you want him to change as President. It’s not possible,” he said.
“On the issue of the President not talking to the people. During the campaign. How many times did the president talk to the people. Did he appear on any debate? You saw all these things, yet you voted him in and you want him to change as the President. This our President never talked to Nigerians during the campaign and you want him to change.
