Former Atiku Abubakar’s aide and prominent political commentator Segun Showunmi (PhD) launched a scathing critique of former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi when replying to a X user King Solomon who criticized him and Bwala.
In the post on June 12, 2025, Showunmi accused Obi of political inconsistency, contrasting it with his own steadfast patriotism. The post, which has garnered significant attention, quotes a prior comment and targets Obi’s alleged party-hopping and cultural shifts.
“Your @PeterObi was busy jumping from APGA to PDP to Labour and now to Indonesia while I was standing firm with Nigeria,” Showunmi wrote. “At least I and Bwala always stand by our country while yours suddenly dresses like an Indonesian. Incredible Joker”, he added. The remark is said to reference Obi’s past affiliations with the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Labour Party.
