President Donald Trump recently put forward his ideas regarding the future of Palestinians in Gaza, stating that his plan would not permit their return to the area. He likened his proposal to a type of “real estate development” aimed at creating new neighborhoods for Palestinians outside of Gaza, potentially in six different locations.
According to report from DAILY TRUST, Trump stated that he would take ownership of this initiative and argued that Palestinians would benefit from better housing solutions.
When questioned about the possibility of their return to Gaza, he strongly dismissed the idea, explaining that the current condition of the enclave, which has been significantly devastated by conflict, makes it uninhabitable for many years.
His proposal however, has drawn significant criticism, particularly from Arab countries and the broader international community, who are against the concept of displacing Palestinians from their homeland.
Trump stated,
“I would own it and that there could be as many as six different sites for Palestinians to live outside Gaza under the plan, which the Arab world and others in the international community have rejected.
They’re going to have much better housing. In other words, I’m talking about building a permanent place for them because if they have to return now, it’ll be years before you could ever – it’s not habitable.”
