Mosab Hassan Yousef, the son of a Hamas co-founder who turned his back on the group and has since become one of its fiercest critics, has once again taken to social media to deliver a scathing critique of the Palestinian leadership and its supporters.

In a post shared on his verified Twitter account, Yousef described it as “hilarious” that many pro-Palestinian voices now support Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in its stance against Israel, despite what he calls the devastating role played by Iran’s leadership in Gaza’s suffering.

“Ayatollah’s power ambitions brought death and destruction on Gaza,” Yousef wrote, condemning the influence of Tehran on Hamas and the broader Palestinian cause. He argued that Hamas, despite not believing in nationalism, has opportunistically exploited Palestinian anger to further a jihadist ideology. According to him, many Palestinians followed Hamas, motivated not by national aspirations but by “honor and revenge.”

Yousef, who once worked with Israeli intelligence to thwart terror plots, has long maintained that Hamas is a destructive force. In this latest statement, he blamed Palestinians for putting their trust in figures and factions that have deepened their plight rather than offered solutions.

“Palestinians made a big mistake laying their eggs in Ayatollah’s basket,” he added, warning that betting on Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran’s Ayatollah, and fringe leftist movements—whom he sarcastically described as “Hippies”—has led the Palestinian people away from a path of progress and peace.
