Mosab Hassan Yousef, outspoken critic of Hamas and former insider, has once again leveled scathing accusations against the group, accusing it of weaponizing civilian infrastructure and manipulating humanitarian crises for political gain.

In a strongly worded statement posted on his verified Twitter account, Yousef claimed Hamas bears primary responsibility for the ongoing suffering in Gaza.

“Hamas didn’t leave any safe zone for civilian refuge,” he wrote. “They turned hospitals, schools, and mosques into terror hubs to maximize civilian casualties.” Yousef asserted that instead of protecting civilians, Hamas intentionally turned public spaces into military outposts, thus exposing vulnerable populations to harm.

He further accused the group of sabotaging humanitarian aid efforts by converting aid sites into “death traps” to escalate global pressure on Israel. “Today Hamas managed to turn the humanitarian aid sites to death traps to increase the global pressure on Israel to surrender — at the expense of hungry children,” he said.

Yousef condemned the group’s alleged use of chaos as a governing strategy, claiming, “Forming a line represents order, and ‘Palestinians’ have no respect for any form of order because they can only exist in chaos.” He described the targeting of aid operations as a war crime, saying it reflects Hamas’ fear that effective humanitarian responses might weaken its grip on power.

He added that if Hamas had kept mosques, schools, and hospitals free from military activities, those spaces could have served as safe shelters for civilians. “As long as we blame Israel for the Palestinian self-inflicted catastrophe,” he warned, “the real enemy will thrive — only to harvest more innocent life.”
