This was a follow up to the public backlash following the directives of Edo State governor Monday Okpebholo requesting the erstwhile Labour Party presidential aspirant to obtain official permission before visiting his state.

According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, Lere Olayinka lamented that Peter Obi was being given preferential treatment, and accused Femi Falana of leading the charge.

In his statements, he pointed out that when Bayelsa State governor Douye Diri announced that Nyesom Wike was barred from coming to the state, no noise was made and everyone was happy.

However, according to Lere Olayinka, Governor Monday Okpebholo’s remarks on Peter Obi drew public attention and condemnation because he was not Nyesom Wike.
