FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has questioned Atiku Abubakar’s leadership credentials by referencing former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s past statements about his former vice president.
Speaking about Atiku’s political track record, Wike recalled how Obasanjo had publicly criticized his choice of Atiku as vice president, describing it as a mistake he was grateful to have been forgiven for. He highlighted Obasanjo’s damning assessment of Atiku’s character, particularly regarding issues of trust and integrity.
According to Wike, Obasanjo had stated that Atiku could not be trusted and lacked the ability to stand for truth, while also accusing him of having a tendency toward corruption.
In Nyesom Wike’s words: “What leadership has Atiku shown? You remember under Obasanjo, I quote him—that when he was running for president of this country and for him to appoint a vice-presidential candidate, he made a mistake. Which was an honest mistake. And he thanked God that God forgave him because he made an honest mistake. That’s their principal. See, More, Here>>>>
He went further that Atiku is not a man that can be trusted. He cannot stand for truth, he has penchant for corruption.”
