Lere Olayinka, the senior special adviser on media to the former governor of Rivers State and FCT minister Nyesom Wike recently reacted to the controversies generated as a result of the sanctions imposed on popular Fuji musician, Kwam 1. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he accused Nigerians of hypocrisy.
Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as Kwam1 or K1 De Ultimate generated controversies after his actions at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja went viral across various social media platforms.
During the incident, prompt actions from the airport authorities prevented a disastrous occurrence and subsequent sanctions followed. The musician was barred from travelling for six months.
However, Nigerians were vocally critical of the Fuji musician, accusing him of endangering himself and those onboard the aircraft. However, Lere Olayinka, the senior special adviser to FCT minister, Nyesom Wike found the criticism unnecessary.
According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he accused Nigerians of double standards and hypocrisy. In his statements, he described them as serial traffic offenders who had been convicted of traffic offences.
He further pointed out that those who do not obey ordinary traffic lift went abroad on different social media platforms to rant over the behavior of Kwam1. Conclusively, he disclosed that Nigerians were hypocrites.
The recent defence of the Fuji musician by Lere Olayinka had since generated mixed reactions from different quarters as many found his comments contentious.
“But Nigerians and hypocrisy…. Serial traffic offenders, convicts of traffic offences, people who don’t obey ordinary traffic lights have been on social media condemning.” He wrote.
