Lere Olayinka, the special adviser on media to the former governor of Rivers State and FCT minister Nyesom Wike recently reacted to ADC coalition constitution forming a hindrance to the presidential ambitions of former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he quoted the party’s guidelines on membership.
The presidential ambitions of former Anambra governor and erstwhile Labour Party flag-bearer, Peter Obi seemed to have stalled after his dual membership became a stumbling block to his aspirations.
This was according to Lere Olayinka, the special adviser on media to the FCT minister and former Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike who made the disclosure on his official X handle.
According to his statements, he disclosed that the ADC constitution does not allow for dual membership, hence, Peter Obi was barred from aspiring to becoming president.
Citing Article 8 of the ADC coalition’s guidelines, he pointed out that any aspiring candidate must not belong to any other political party. This, according to Lere Olayinka, paved the way for Amaechi and Atiku.
He further pointed out that his dual membership may shut the door on the former Anambra State governor as he remained a member of the Labour Party.

However, according to Lere Olayinka, Peter Obi’s spokesman, Tanko Yinusa had addressed the issue, stating that Peter Obi will make his decision known in due time.
