According to Punch, a 29-year-old Islamic teacher, Abdulrahman Bello, has been arrested for allegedly murdering a final-year student at Kwara State College of Education, Yetunde Lawal. However, in a trending video, Bello claimed he is innocent and a “victim of circumstance.”

Bello, who introduced himself as Mohammed, denied any involvement in Yetunde’s death, stating that she was his girlfriend.

“My name is Mohammed. I’m a Muslim cleric,” he said.

When questioned about his education, he responded, “I’m on the verge of being accepted into KWASU.”

Talking about the victim, he said, “The girl is Hafusa. She is my girlfriend. I met her on Facebook.”

He maintained, “I didn’t murder her. I’m merely a victim of the situation.”

Describing what happened, he said, “She informed me that there was an event at 1 pm after school that day. She returned home after 3 pm. When she arrived, she mentioned she hadn’t eaten, so I went to get her some food. But when I returned, she was struggling to breathe.”

Bello alleged that Yetunde had previously told him she was asthmatic.

“I was in shock when she passed away, and I couldn’t call for help. I cut up her body and got rid of it at the public dump because I didn’t know what else to do. I’ve never done anything like this before; it’s my first time,” he stated.

However, the police discovered fetish items in Bello’s residence, raising suspicions that this may not have been his first crime.

Yetunde’s remains were found in Bello’s residence, and he has been arrested for alleged murder.

The incident has sparked outrage, with many questioning how Bello could claim to be innocent despite the evidence against him.
