The former governor of Rivers state and FCT Minister has responded to the statement that was made by the former Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung.

According to DAILY TRUST, the former minister slammed the former governor of Rivers state for equating the construction of roads to development. Solomon Dalung stated that road construction cannot be emphasized as development because many Nigerians do not have vehicles.

Reacting, Lere Olayinka, the Special Assistant on Public Communications to Nyesom Wike stated that Solomon Dalung’s tenure as the Minister of Sports was disastrous.

He said under Dalung, Nigeria failed to qualify for the African Cup of Nations.

According to DAILY TRUST, Lere Olayinka said;

“Dalung, whose tenure as Minister of Youth and Sports was monumentally disastrous even went to the ridiculous extent of saying that road construction cannot be emphasized as development because many Nigerians do not have vehicles. To someone under whom Nigeria failed to successively qualify for the Nations Cup”.
