In a recent interview with Arise News From 5:37, Aminu Babba Dan Agundi, the Sarkin Dawaki Babba of Kano, issued a stern warning about the potential consequences of a court ruling that bars Aminu Ado Bayero from parading himself as the Emir of Kano. He held Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu of the State High Court responsible for any ensuing chaos, urging security agencies to ensure her accountability.
“If there’s chaos in Kano, we’d hold the Judge responsible. We’d appeal to the security agencies to hold her responsible. Nobody will agree with what she has done because some people are guiding her on what to do,” said Dan Agundi.
Dan Agundi underscored the necessity of adhering to the legal process, stating that the order issued by Justice Aliyu, regardless of its correctness, must be followed. “The order that Justice Aliyu has given, whether it’s right or wrong, they must follow it. They can only appeal against that order,” he asserted.
The court ruling comes amid ongoing disputes over the traditional leadership in Kano. The decision to bar Bayero, who has been a central figure in the city’s traditional hierarchy, has polarized opinions among the populace.
