One of the chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and former Kaduna lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central at the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani has reacted after Yoruba socio cultural and political organization, Afenifere condemned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for favouring Yoruba people in his appointments.
In a report that was published by PUNCH, Afenifere said Tinubu appointed Yorubas to head the EFCC, DSS, CBN and many other agencies.
Afenifere said;
“We can never condone the outrageous bias by Tinubu to make Yorubas head of all arms of the criminal justice system (EFCC, DSS, Attorney-General and Chief Justice); the economy (Coordinating Minister of the economy, CBN, Finance, Blue Economy, Digital Economy, Trade, Industries and Investment, Bank of Industry, Solid Minerals); as well as the forces (army, police, customs, immigration, DSS).
“Afenifere can’t use several decades to fight against Fulani hegemony only to support Yoruba or any other hegemony. Afenifere bitterly complained that President Buhari’s northern hegemony can’t remain mute on ethnic hegemony, as being perpetrated by Tinubu”.
However, senator Shehu Sani has now reacted to the report. In a post that he shared on his official X handle on Monday, he said Afenifere has raised a voice against lopsided federal appointments but Northerners kept mute during Buhari’s tenure.
Here is what Shehu Sani wrote on his page;
“The Afenifere group from the Southwest has raised a voice against lopsided federal appointments despite that it benefits its region. Their Northern counterpart that is now talking kept mute when it was happening under the past leadership”.
