The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Felix Morka has urged Peter Obi to let President Bola Tinubu focus on leading the country.
Morka who spoke in an interview with Arise TV from 14:21 , said Peter Obi should let Tinubu focus on implementing policies to improve the country, addressing areas where even Obi fell short during his tenure as the governor of Anambra State.
Peter Obi had in his New Year’s message, urged President Tinubu to dedicate 20% of 2025, about 72 days to visiting all 36 states in Nigeria. Obi proposed that Tinubu spend two days in each state, including visits to camps for internally displaced persons (IDPs).
According to Obi, these visits would show that the government is committed to restoring peace and helping displaced Nigerians return to their homes.
Morka however, dismissed this suggestion, saying it is unnecessary. He stated that Tinubu is capable of leading the country as he chooses and is supported by a team of ministers and officials who are already working to improve the lives of Nigerians. He added that Tinubu has only been in office for 18 months and still has time to fulfill his four-year term.
Morka accused Obi of making it seem like Tinubu has neglected Nigerians, arguing that the president needs time to implement his plans and achieve results.
He said, “The President has the liberty to go anywhere and do things as he thinks, and he has Ministers who work for him. He has other levels of authority who are delivering government policies and programs to ensure that people wherever they are feel the impact of government.
“Obi’s analysis is presented to make it sound as though this president has done something colossal in neglect of people. That’s ridiculous because, he has been in office for just 18 months, and he was elected to serve for four years. So, Obi should take a chill pill and allow this president to do what he himself couldn’t do in Anambra state.”
