According to a report by Reuters, Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, made a bold statement yesterday, declaring that Israel has successfully defeated Hezbollah, with the elimination of its leader Hassan Nasrallah being the ultimate triumph.

Katz emphasized that Israel’s focus now shifts to maintaining pressure to reap the benefits of this victory.

Interestingly, he also expressed Israel’s disinterest in interfering with Lebanon’s internal politics, noting that they’ve ‘learned their lessons’ from past experiences.

Instead, Katz hopes an international coalition will capitalize on this opportunity and that Lebanon will join other countries in normalizing relations with Israel.

“Now it is our job to continue to put pressure in order to bring about the fruits of that victory,” Katz said during a ceremony at Israel’s foreign ministry.

Israel’s Defence Minister, Katz, stressed that Israel won’t interfere in Lebanon’s internal affairs, having learned from past experiences, but hopes international cooperation will seize the moment to foster positive change, ultimately leading Lebanon to establish diplomatic ties with Israel, following suit with other nations.
