The All Progressives Congress (APC) caretaker chairman in Rivers State has stepped forward to address misconceptions about former Governor Nyesom Wike’s involvement in a recent court case, emphasizing that the legal action was solely initiated by the state’s APC chapter.

Speaking on broadcast with Symfoni TV  from 9:52, Tony Okocha strongly defended the former governor against what he described as unfair accusations. “I want to state here that it was APC Rivers that went to court. They should leave out Nyesom Wike. He is not a member of the APC, so what is his business?” Okocha stated.

The APC chairman further condemned what he perceived as a campaign to discredit the former governor. “It’s a deliberate attempt to blackmail a man with allegations in the media,” he declared.

Okocha’s intervention appears aimed at setting the record straight regarding the ownership of the legal action and protecting Wike’s reputation from what he sees as unwarranted criticism. His statements underscore the importance of accurate reporting in political matters and the need to avoid unfounded allegations against political figures.

This clarification comes amid ongoing political tensions in Rivers State, where various narratives have emerged regarding different political actors’ roles in recent events.
