Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has accused the current Kaduna State government of orchestrating an alleged attack at the venue where various political parties were inaugurating members into the ADC transition committee.
Speaking in an interview with AIT from 1:02, El-Rufai expressed disappointment with the administration he helped bring to power while issuing a stern warning about potential consequences. “It’s unfortunate that this is a government that I had a hand in bringing to power. I’m quite disappointed and disgusted by this. But if the authorities don’t take decisive action to end this reintroduction of thuggery into Kaduna politics, well, God help us, because nobody has a monopoly of violence. Nobody has a monopoly of thugs,” he stated.
ADC National Vice Chairman for the Northwest Zone, Jafaru Sani, has also alleged that the ruling party orchestrated the attack while criticizing security personnel for failing to protect citizens engaged in constitutional activities.
Sani questioned the conduct of law enforcement officers who allegedly witnessed lawbreaking without taking action. “When a lawbreaker breaks the law in the presence of a law enforcement agent and the person just stands aloof, I don’t know what to call that,” he said.
