The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has announced that its troops carried out a precise strike in the Nuseirat area of central Gaza, targeting a member of the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization who was allegedly planning an imminent attack against Israeli soldiers.
In a statement posted on its verified X (formerly Twitter) account, the IDF said the operation was conducted with accuracy to neutralize the specific threat posed by the militant. “The IDF conducted a precise strike in the Nuseirat area in central Gaza targeting a terrorist from the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization who planned to carry out an imminent attack against IDF troops,” the military stated.
The IDF further clarified that its forces under the Southern Command remain deployed in accordance with the current ceasefire arrangement. “IDF troops in the Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat,” the statement added.
While the ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian factions has largely held in recent weeks, the IDF’s latest strike underscores continuing tensions and the fragile nature of the truce. The targeted operation reportedly aimed to prevent what Israeli intelligence described as a planned attack that could have endangered soldiers operating near the border.
No details have yet been provided on the identity of the targeted militant or whether there were any additional casualties resulting from the strike. View, More,
