Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has accused the United States of being complicit in the “shedding of innocent Palestinian blood” through its unwavering support for Israel.

The reference to the Srebrenica massacre, in which over 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys were killed by Bosnian Serb forces in 1995, is a pointed attempt by Khamenei to draw parallels between the international community’s failure to prevent that atrocity and what he sees as its complicity in the ongoing violence against Palestinians.
